Thomas Ciarfuglia received tha M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Perugia in 2004. After graduating he worked in the IT and electronics industry with Hi-Tech Solutions designing embedded computers and control softwares for heavy duty construction machines. Wishing to further improve his control system engineering skills he got a M.Sc. degree in Mechatronics Engineering in 2008. Since then he has worked with the Faculty of Engineering of Perugia on robotics and mechatronics projects like a preliminary study for the realization of a human centrifuge for ESC Group and the design and realization of an autonomous robot system for medical use for Umbria Innovazione. He spent four months at the Autonomous Systems Lab of the ETH of Zurich working on a distributed robotics project.
Now he is working on Visual Odometry and other machine vision applications to robotics.
